“Memories of Hoi An are reflected in the reu [moss] covering the ancient buildings of the town. Layer by layer, each one grows on top of the other.”
Reu Dining cultivates fresh harmony from storied elements — an expression of gratitude for Hoi An’s vibrant folklore. The space is built from reclaimed materials given a new lease on life: old tiles, teapots, ceramics, fragments of fishing boats, porcelain shards, and red tiles salvaged from old wooden ships and regenerated materials.
In the kitchen, Reu takes a molecular gastronomy approach, presenting a Tasting Menu of nine to eighteen small dishes that celebrate local ingredients and technique. The gardens use no chemical fertilizers — instead, vegetable scraps are composted into organic fertilizer, closing the loop between plate and soil.
Every detail at Reu tells a story of Hoi An’s heritage, sustainability, and the art of giving old things new meaning.
